So I got a bit of a surprise reassignment- I’ll be packing my bags and heading to a new station. I’ll be staffing a variety of trucks, ranging from Engine 505B, Tanker Company 505, to Brush 505. Brush 5 is a lifted Chevy Silverado 2500HD used to fight fires off the beaten path, and sometimes for rescues and searches where larger trucks can’t follow. The tanker is a 1991 Freightliner, used to supply firefighting operations in rural areas and on interstate highways, where hydrants are unavailable. It is capable of being filled from city hydrants, or “drafting” off of ponds, rivers, and pools. Lots of new adventures in a very rural location- crazy stuff happens in the country. Stand by for tales of adventure.
